The Fashion Awards 2019, hosted by the British Fashion Council celebrated the best in fashion this year with celebrities, models and style icons showcasing strong sartorial looks by nominated designers, from the UK and beyond. The star-studded gala guests included Donatella Versace, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise and Rihanna celebrated fashion’s hottest talents and looked to a more inclusive future.
Bottega Veneta and its young artistic director Daniel Lee were the big winners at the Fashion Awards, taking four awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Italian fashion house which specializes in high-end leather goods just last year named the 33-year-old Briton as creative director of the brand. It was mission accomplished for the young Lee, with Bottega Veneta -- founded in 1966 in Vicenza -- named "brand of the year" at the annual British Fashion Council gathering.
And Lee, who worked at Margiela, Balenciaga and Donna Karan before taking over management of Celine's ready-to-wear collections for five years, was crowned "designer of the year".
He was also named "British designer of the year, womenswear" and took the award for best accessories designer
American actress Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the awards, wearing a fluid Richard Quinn creation, her hair braided and twisted into a sculptural halo.
Another epic moment saw Janet Jackson present Rihanna with the urban luxe award for her label Fenty, while Naomi Campbell teared up when she accepted her icon award.
