When a city reaches a point of economic and cultural turnover, the newfound vibrance of its offerings can alter the way in which the world sees and interacts with it. No other Italian city best encapsulates this exciting development than Milan, which has recently evolved into one of the country’s most exciting locations. With an estimated 8.81 million visitors in 2018, more than a quarter of whom are travelling for business, Milan has skyrocketed to the top 20 destination cities according to MasterCard’s Global Destination Cities Index, making it the most sought-after Italian city.

According to the ICity Rate 2018 Report, Milan has additionally been ranked Italy’s 1st smart city for the fifth consecutive year, based on the analysis of 15 dimensions, including social (social inclusion), political (civic participation), economic (economic solidity), technological (digital transformation), and environmental ones (green infrastructures).

We are thrilled to announce that Milan will be home to our European office as of 4th February. Our Italian headquarters will serve as the centre of Elite Associates’ European retail operations. At the forefront of our European business is former Milanese local Sara, the head of our International Division with extensive experience in recruitment and passion for Italian business.

After travelling back and forth between London and Milan, Sara has spearheaded the opening of our European base after the suggestion of enthusiastic clients. “Every time I visit, I see how much the city changes; Milan is now a very multicultural city – it is after all a capital of fashion!  From an Aperitivo at the martini bar to events nel Quadrilatero Della Moda, Milan is definitely a great city to expand your network in the luxury industry,” she says.
