The world knows Dubai as a hub of glistening comfort and service. With its luminous offerings of architecture, hotels, restaurants and recreation, the city can only be defined by superlatives. The possibilities of hospitality and gastronomy have been crafted by international talents- experts on food, drink and good times all compete to accommodate both locals and tourists in extravagant meals.
One particular dining experience that is treated with an almost-sacred attention to detail is brunch, specifically the ones hosted on Fridays. It is significant to keep in mind that Dubai brunches are definitely experiences first and foremost. In typical Dubai fashion, Friday brunches feature an abundance of food, drink and music. Because most brunches take place in licensed restaurants or hotels, alcohol is also permitted and can be enjoyed as part of an unlimited package if one is willing to spend a bit more.
We here at Elite Associates have a soft spot for Dubai and would love to share our recommendations on which brunches are a definite must-experience.
Jumeirah Al Qasr
The first on the list is the renowned Friday brunch at Jumeirah Al Qasr. This award-winning brunch service features international foods and is perfect for group parties, couples and families. Lasting three and a half hours, from 12.30-16.00, the Jumeirah Al Qasr brunch takes place among the Arabian opulence of the hotel and requires a chic dress code.
180° at 360° Night Club
Don’t expect Dubai to play by the rules. Time is viewed rather differently here than it is viewed in the West and it is quite apropos that brunch sometimes not be in the late morning, but rather in the evening. This is the case for 180°, the food, drink and music extravaganza that takes place Thursday evenings at 360° Night Club. Expect panoramic views, generous portions and loud music.
Dukesy Beach Brunch at Dukes Dubai
The sister hotel to the Dukes Mayfair, this British establishment in Dubai hosts a Friday brunch on the pearly comfort of its private beach. Guests are invited to either non-alcoholic and alcoholic variations of the event, with a £60 difference between the two. As far as what food is offered, this is a barbeque-themed brunch that transitions into a luxurious display of sweet pastries as the day goes on.
The High Brunch at Nobu, The Palm Jumeirah
Set in the grand domed dining hall of Nobu, the High Brunch melds the Arabesque meets Japanese interior with the soft of ambience of electronica music. Brunch at Nobu differs from most other offerings in Dubai in that food is presented in a multicourse menu that stays true to the brand’s heritage. For pop culture enthusiasts, Nobu is a favourite amongst celebrities; Kylie Minogue, Usher and David Beckham, for example, have been known to dine there.
Giardino Brunch at Palazzo Versace
It can be of no shock to anyone that brunch at the Palazzo Versace is a luxurious affair. Featuring an international menu, the brunch takes place in the jungle inspired opulence of the Versace building amongst the lively energy of a live band and open cooking stations. On milder days, guests are invited to relax on the terrace and make use of the glistening Ischia pool.
