Fusing modernity and over the top heritage elements, the latest Ian Scharger-Mariott collaboration has been unveiled deep in the heart of Fitzrovia in the guise of The Edition London- a compelling and very hip travel experience. Designed by Canadian Design Studio Yabu Pushelberg, the 173 guest room is the ultimate expression of “maximalism” and features uber sophisticated design elements including George Smith sofas, rainforest showers, and Le Labo custom-made amenities. For those travellers seeking the ultimate in privacy and discretion, the hotel also boasts an impressive 2,098 sq ft wood panelled Penthouse. And to make sure that the concept also fuses substance with the style, Berner’s Tavern, under the direction of Executive Chef Jason Atherton serves up the Best of British with delectable dishes including Creedy Carver duck with caramel apples and pickled plum puree, Sunday roast lunch featuring Ruby Red beef, and a stellar selection of locally harvested seafood. And if all those calories are too much to bear, then slip into the Punchroom bar for an old world yet contemporary cocktail experience showcasing specialty libations including a Jasmin tea and oak moss infused gin punch.
Nestled between Marylebone and Bloomsbury and just north of Soho, Fitzrovia is an up and coming and bohemian neighbourhood of London, Once upon a time legendary writers like Virginia Woolf and George Bernard Shaw called Fitzrovia home and with its quaint squares, excellent transport links, and unique heritage has become a vibrant shopping, residential, and business enclave.
