Inditex expands!!!
After years of speculation, Europe’s largest leading retailer is taking a giant leap across the pond to move into Australia and South Africa!! In a statement it was said “Of the 343 new stores that the retailer, whose other brands include Massimo Dutti and Bershka, opened last year, 98 percent were outside of Spain.” In the last two years, Inditex have opened stores in Syria, Bulgaria, India and Kazakhstan, totaling 77 markets it now represents and plans to opene between 365-425 stores this year!! And if that wasn’t enough, Inditex chief executive Pablo Isla has said “Inditex will launch Zara online in Japan, South Korea and the United States in 2011.”
It looks as though it will only be a matter of time before other international fashion retailers like Banana Republic, Topshop and Forever 21 follow according to industry insiders, with GAP already due to open its first store this August in Chadstone!
